Wicked has announced a casting change!

The award-winning musical features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, with a book by Winnie Holzman. Wayne Cilento handles musical staging, and Joe Mantello directs. At its Apollo Victoria Theatre home on Wednesday, Wicked  celebrated its 7500th performance.

Starring in the lead roles are Emma Kingston as Elphaba and Zizi Strallen as Glinda.

Carl Man, who first joined the show as part of the West End’s 15th anniversary company, played Fiyero in the most recent tour before reprising it in London. He will now make his Broadway debut as the Winkie prince from 3 March 2026. There, he will share the stage with another West End star in the show.

In London, Jacob Young, who currently serves as an understudy, will assume the role of Fiyero full-time from 10 February.

He joins Sarah Ingram as Madame Morrible alongside Michael Matus as the Wizard – the fourth time the pair have worked on a musical together. Ross Carpenter plays Boq, while Hannah Qureshi plays Nessarose. Laura Emmitt returns to Wicked as alternate Elphaba, while Lydia Gerrard joins the West End production as a standby for Glinda.

Completing the cast are Iroy Abesamis, Zac Adlam, Steph Asamoah, Meg Astin, Rebecca Bowden, Shaun Chambers, Erin Gisele Chapman, Grace Durkin, Onyemachi Ejimofor, Aaron Elijah, Emily Goodenough, Aimee Hodnett, Nat Ingham, Holly Lawrence, Jemima Loddy, Josh Lovell, Will Luckett, Rory Maguire, PaddyJoe Martin, JoJo Meredith, Ayden Morgan, Rina Punwani, Abbie Quinnen, Jemma Revell, Jeanie Ryan, Charlotte Anne Steen, Chris Tarsey, Hannah Taylor and James Titchener.

The full 2026 to 2027 London company is yet to be announced.

Wicked is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Stage Productions, The Araca Group, Jon B Platt, and David Stone.

Scenic design is by Eugene Lee, costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting by Kenneth Posner, sound by Tony Meola, projection designs by Elaine J McCarthy and hair and wig designs by Tom Watson. Music arrangements are by Alex Lacamoire and Stephen Oremus, with dance arrangements by James Lynn Abbott, orchestrations by William David Brohn, and musical supervision by Oremus.

Wicked is booking through to 3 January 2027.
