Lin-Manuel Miranda has revealed that his and Eisa Davis’ hit musical Warriors is in its workshop stages.

The composer, lyricist and actor shared a photo on his Instagram displaying the cover of a workshop script for the show, based on the 1979 Paramount Pictures film and the novel of the same name by Sol Yurick.

In an Instagram post, Miranda said: “On the other side of two weeks in a room writing and rewriting for unbelievable actors and musicians at music stands. The journey home keeps getting deeper. Clap your hands if you’re ready to meet the Warriors…”

The post also revealed creative minds behind the stage version – Jenny Koons, co-director of Head Over Heels, and director of So the Birds Are at Playwright’s Horizons is on directing duties, while Miranda’s longtime collaborator Andy Blankenbuehler (In the Heights, Hamilton, Bring It On) is on choreography duty. Kurt Crowley, who worked on the Warriors album and also on Hamilton, is the music supervisor.

Dates, venues and possible timespans for the stage version haven’t been disclosed, but we’re incredibly excited to see what might be in the works.

Described as an “immersive listening experience,” the story follows a New York City gang from Coney Island to the Bronx and back when they’re framed for the murder of a respected gang leader.
