The Donmar Warehouse has announced its 2026 season, featuring three world premieres and a revival.

The programme follows the current run of When We Are Married and the forthcoming world premiere of Anna Ziegler’s Evening All Afternoon, starring Erin Kellyman and Anastasia Hille.

The season opens with Mass, the stage debut of writer Fran Kranz, adapted from his 2021 film screenplay. Directed by Carrie Cracknell in her Donmar debut, casting for the show has also been revealed. The play centres on a meeting between two couples brought together by an act of violence and runs from 18 April to 6 June, with a press night on 29 April.

From 20 June to 15 August, Russell Tovey returns to the Donmar to star in The Guilty, a new play by Chloë Moss based on the films Den Skyldige and The Guilty. The production is directed by Punchdrunk founder Felix Barrett and runs with a press night on 30 June.

The creative team includes set designer Alex Eales, lighting designer Anna Watson, sound designer Gareth Fry, video designer Luke Halls, associate director Elin Schofield and casting director Lotte Hines.

The season continues with a revival of Brian Friel’s A Month in the Country, his adaptation of Ivan Turgenev’s play. Directed by Lyndsey Turner, the production runs from 22 August to 3 October, with a press night on 2 September. Casting is by Lotte Hines.

The final production of the year is the world premiere of Ilford Boy by Danny Lee Wynter, directed by Donmar artistic director Tim Sheader. The play runs from 10 October to 28 November, with a press night on 20 October, and follows a mixed-race teenager growing up in 1990s east London whose life changes following the arrival of a new influence.

The creative team includes set designer Peter McKintosh, costume designer Ryan Dawson Laight, choreographer Ebony Molina, voice director Barbara Houseman, dialect coach Hazel Holder and casting director Lotte Hines.

Alongside the programming announcement, the Donmar confirmed the continuation of its £20 ticket scheme for audiences aged 35 and under, as well as more than 1,800 free tickets for local schools, supported by workshops and in-school residencies during the run of Ilford Boy.

It was recently announced that The Fear of 13, which premiered at the Donmar in 2024, will open on Broadway in March 2026 in association with the theatre, starring Adrien Brody.

Priority booking for Donmar supporters opens on 29 January, with public booking from 6 February.
